Lost or Found Property

Lost or found property should be reported to police before contacting the Property Branch, because a police report is required in order to claim any recovered property.

Found property is held for 90 days by the Property Department while the police attempt to locate and notify owners.

After the 90-day period has lapsed and no owner has been found, the property will be lawfully disposed of in accordance with the
Police Services Act.
