Build a Bike BBQ

The Greater Sudbury Police Service has a new initiative to address youth crime, drug abuse, and the threat of illegal street gangs establishing a footprint within our community. The venture is a motorcycle re-build, led by Rick "Ozzy" Osborne to engage local youth. Ozzy's Garage was created by Astwood Strategy Corporation. Developed by gang experts Michael Chettleburgh, Rick Osborne and Andrew Bacchus, the Ozzy's Garage program is founded on the two premises that redemption is possible and that we can reach and work with some high risk and gang-involved youth better through a non-traditional, fun and highly unique skilled trades program as compared to a typical community-based intervention. The project takes place in the gym at St. Albert's school on Raphael St. Read more about the Project here!

Members of the Greater Sudbury Police Service, program sponsors and partners met Rick Osborne and the Bike Build participants Wednesday, August 11 to share a BBQ donated by M&M Meats.

"Wednesday's BBQ sponsored by M&M Meats was an opportunity for members of Greater Sudbury Police Service, Bike Build partners and youth to enjoy some camaraderie. Nothing brings people together like scrumptious food. Shared conversation and laughter builds relationships. The smiles tell it all." - Anna Maria Barsanti -(Education Coordinator - Youth)

"It was great to attend the Bike Build on Wednesday and visit with Ozzy and the participants. What was amazing to see was how quickly the bond between Rick and the kids was formed and how much the program meant to participants. They talked about the relationships they had established and what they wanted to accomplish to move their lives forward." - Deputy Chief Allen Lekun
