The Greater Sudbury Police Service provides a vital link between the Police Service and the Community through the Storefront Friendly Call Program which is a complimentary service for Greater City of Sudbury senior citizens and shut ins.

This program links our Storefront Volunteers who are qualified callers with the individuals that would like to receive a regular call to inform them about community events, check on their well being and have a friendly conversation.

Application to the Program

The application process is very quick and can be done over the phone. We will have a few simple questions to ask about the individual interested in receiving a friendly phone call and an emergency contact for this person. We encourage anyone who would like to receive a friendly call, or if they know of someone who would benefit from this program to contact the Greater Sudbury Police Service Volunteer Coordinator at 705-675-9171 x 2335 or by email at

Interested candidates must submit a complete application indicating their interest in the Storefront Volunteer Program to the Greater Sudbury Police Service - Human Resource Branch by email or by mail to:
