31-year-old charged with impaired driving-related offences after single vehicle collision
At 7:05 a.m. on May 2, 2024, the Greater Sudbury Police Service received multiple traffic complaints regarding a pick-up truck being driven erratically while travelling Eastbound on MR 35 towards Sudbury.
As the traffic complaints were being received by our 9-1-1 Emergency Communications Centre, the vehicle was involved in a single vehicle collision where the driver sustained life-threatening injuries.
Members of the Traffic Management Unit investigated the collision, where judicial authorization was obtained to complete a toxicological analysis of the driver’s blood. The analysis revealed that the driver did have a blood drug concentration at the time of the collision.
As a result of the investigation, 31-year-old, Brett Dusick of Chelmsford has been charged with the following offences;
- Dangerous Operation
- Operation while Impaired - Drug
- Operation While Impaired - Blood Drug Concentration that is equal to or exceeds the allowable Blood Drug Concentration - to wit Methamphetamine
- Operation While Impaired - Blood Drug Concentration that is equal to or exceeds the allowable Blood Drug Concentration - to wit Ketamine
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance - to wit Methamphetamine
Brett Dusick will appear in court on August 14, 2024, to answer to charges.
