43 Year Old Daycare Employee Charged with Multiple Sexual Related Offences

On January 13, 2020, the Greater Sudbury Police Service was contacted by a concerned parent regarding allegations of Sexual Assault on a preschool aged child at a daycare located on John Street in Greater Sudbury.

The incident was assigned to Detectives in the Criminal Investigations Division and the Internet Child Exploitation Unit.

On January 25, 2020, 43-year old, Denis Chartier was arrested and charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code of Canada;

• Sexual Assault
• Sexual Interference
• Sexual Exploitation

Through the investigation it was determined that the man knowingly obstructed the investigation by lying to Detectives regarding his involvement with children at the daycare leading to an additional charge of Obstruct Peace Officer.

He was held for Bail and attended Weekend and Statutory Holiday (W.A.S.H.) Court on Sunday, January 26, 2020 to answer to the charges.
