Fatal Collision Involving Train and Pedestrian

At approximately 9:00 a.m. on October 20, 2026, the Greater Sudbury Police Service (GSPS) responded to a report of a collision involving a train and a pedestrian at the intersection of Elm Street and Frood Road.

Officers arrived on scene and located an individual who had sustained fatal injuries. The individual was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The investigation remains ongoing in collaboration with Canadian Pacific Kansas City Police Service. The identity of the deceased will be released pending notification of next of kin.
