Fatal Collision on Skead Road Claims Life of 45-year old man

Just before 9:00 p.m. on Friday, August 16th, 2024, Officers were dispatched to Skead Road in relation to a single vehicle collision involving a pick-up truck.

City of Greater Sudbury Paramedic and Fire Services responded to the scene and began life-saving measures on the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle. The driver was transported to hospital with critical injuries.

Unfortunately, the 45-year old man was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Our deepest condolences go out to his family and friends. His identity will not be provided out of respect for the family’s wishes.

Based on the investigation, it was determined that the pick-up truck was being driven northbound on Skead Road when it collided with the guardrails and travelled into an embankment, ejecting the driver from the vehicle.

The investigation into the collision is ongoing and anyone with information related to the incident is asked to contact our Traffic Management Unit at 705-675-9171. We thank first responders and medical professionals for their efforts in this matter.
