Officers investigating threats complaint at Confederation Secondary School

UPDATE
The lockdown at Confederation Secondary School has been lifted. Officers remain on scene as the investigation continues into the origin of the threatening text message. The investigation remains ongoing.

At approximately 1:00 p.m. on October 8, 2026, officers responded to a threats-related complaint at Confederation Secondary School in Val Caron after a student received a threatening text message from an unknown number.

 

As a precautionary measure, the school was placed in lockdown and remains in lockdown while officers continue their investigation.

 

Officers have completed a thorough search of both the interior and exterior of the school and have determined there is no identified threat at this time.

 

Officers remain on site and are continuing to investigate the origin of the text message. Officers are working in collaboration with administration, staff and students.

 

The investigation remains ongoing.
