Requesting assistance to locate 31-year-old, Deondrae Edie – Wanted on arrest warrant

We are requesting the public’s assistance to locate 31-year-old, Deondrae Edie who is wanted on an arrest warrant for the following offences under the Criminal Code of Canada;

·         Aggravated Assault

·         Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

·         Obstruct Peace Officer

·         Resist Peace Officer

·         Fail to Comply with Probation Order x2

On July 7, 2026, officers responded to a report of an unknown trouble at a residence on Maurice Street in Hanmer following an altercation that left a 44-year-old man with serious injuries. Greater Sudbury Paramedic Services transported the individual to the hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

The individual believed to be responsible for the assault fled the area prior to police arrival.

Based on information provided by witnesses, officers located an individual matching the description on Ralph Street. When approached by police, the individual provided false identification before fleeing on foot.

Officers conducted a K9 track and ground search of the area; however, the individual was not located.

As a result of the investigation, the individual believed to be involved has been identified as Deondrae Edie, and an arrest warrant has been issued through the judicial process.
