Two adults charged following seizure of approximately $58,000 in cocaine and fentanyl

On October 1, 2026, members of the Greater Sudbury Police Service (GSPS) Patrol Operations Division were investigating an Intimate Partner Violence-related incident at a residence on Granite Street in Greater Sudbury. During the investigation, officers located a quantity of illicit drugs within the residence. Two adults were arrested for possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

Patrol officers secured the residence while members o the GSPS Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) obtained and executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant.
As a result of the search, officers seized:
  • Approximately 464 grams of cocaine
  • Approximately 118 grams of fentanyl
  • Approximately $10,000 in Canadian currency
The estimated street value of the seized drugs is approximately $58,000.
As a result of the investigation, two adults were arrested and charged with offences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and the Criminal Code of Canada, including:
  • Possession of a Schedule I controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, to wit: Cocaine.
  • Possession of a Schedule I controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, to wit: Fentanyl.
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.00.
  • Breach of release order (one person only).
One accused attended bail court on October 2, 2026, to answer to the charges. The second accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
