IJFS Assists 61 Victims of Human Trafficking – 239 Charges Laid
The Provincial Human Trafficking Intelligence-led Joint Forces Strategy (IJFS) members from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Toronto Police Service (TPS), Greater Sudbury Police Service (GSPS) and Treaty Three Police Service (T3PS) shared human trafficking statistics to show the cooperative work of the strategy and the complexity of human trafficking investigations.
Since the IJFS was created in December 2021, the 21 police services have:
- conducted 65 investigations;
- assisted 61 victims;
- laid.

23-year old Man Arrested and Charged with Sexual AssaultIn 2022, the Greater Sudbury Police Service received complaints from two separate Survivors in relation to the same individual, 23-year-old, Sahibdeep Singh. Information provided was that this individual worked as an administrative assistant at Sudbury Family Health Organization in Greater Sudbury, however he was using his position to conduct physical examinations of patients resulting in sexual assault.

74 Charges Laid in Commercial Motor Vehicle BlitzThe Greater Sudbury Police Traffic Management Unit in partnership with Ontario Provincial Police TIME Team recently conducted a three-day blitz in Greater Sudbury that focused on commercial motor vehicle safety education and enforcement.
Of 64 traffic stops conducted, 74 charges were laid for the following:
- failing to complete daily inspections
- vehicles being over weight
- not having a commercial motor vehicle operators registration (CVOR) as required
- braking systems not functioning
- fail to have annual.

Requesting assistance to locate 46 year old Brent Liefers - Wanted on 6 outstanding arrest warrantsUPDATE46-year-old, Brent Liefers has been arrested on the six outstanding arrest warrants in relation to Intimate Partner Violence.
He will attend Bail Court today, March 15, 2023 to answer to the charges.
