On October 4, 2025, officers responded to a Break and Enter at a residence in the South End of Greater Sudbury where a significant amount of jewelry and electronic equipment were stolen from the home.
As part of the ongoing investigation, officers in the Break Enter and Robbery (BEAR) Unit identified the individual believed to be responsible and connected the individual to a separate residential Break and Enter that occurred on October 1, 2025.

DEU seizes illicit drugs and cash after CDSA search warrant at 720 Bruce AvenueOn October 9, 2025, detectives from the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) concluded an investigation involving individuals believed to be trafficking illicit drugs in our community. Members of the Emergency Response Unit (ERU) and K9 Unit executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) warrant at a residential unit at 720 Bruce Avenue.

UPDATE 3 – Double homicide at 1960 Paris Street –26-year-old, Romaine Sam arrested by CBSAUPDATE 3
On October 4, 2025, 26-year-old, Romaine Sam was taken into custody on the strength of the arrest warrant for Second Degree Murder x2 at the Pearson International Airport by members of the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). Through the investigation it was determined that Romaine Sam fled to Southern Ontario shortly after the double homicide occurred and then left the country prior to being identified.
