2017 Police Cup – “Play it Forward” Results
On the weekend of January 13 – 15, 2017, approximately 500 local players, on 31 different teams from the Sudbury Playground Hockey League competed in the Police Cup hockey tournament.
Once again this year, there was great hockey played in local arenas and participants of the tournament gave back to the community by donating non-perishable food items.

Motor Vehicle Collision at the Intersection of Lasalle Boulevard and Barrydowne RoadGreater Sudbury Police are on scene of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian at the intersection of Lasalle Boulevard and Barrydowne Road.
The male has been transported to hospital by EMS.

70 Arrested in India at CRA Phone Scam Call CentrThe Greater Sudbury Police Service would like to advise the public of 70 arrests recently made in India at a call centre that employed 700 people hired to conduct a phone scam internationally where callers also contacted victim’s in Canada and alleged they were a representative of the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). The callers from the fraudulent call centre would convince the victim that they owed a large amount of taxes to the CRA, and they would insist on immediate payment from the victim.

Police have arrested two males for attempt murder in relation to this incident.
Police are looking to locate more involved persons.

The turning lane of Lasalle Boulevard towards the Notre Dame intersection is occupied by emergency vehicles.

Update; Reported Found Human Remains**UPDATE**
Greater Sudbury Police Service can confirm that the Found Remains is a skull. The investigation is now being led by the Office of the Chief Coroner, who will be coordinating further examination of the skull.

In order to create efficiencies within our Communications Centre we have created a new Bear Information Line to assist the general public when dealing with Black Bears.
