UPDATE
Through a tip from a community member on August 14th, 2024, the Greater Sudbury Police Service received information that the man pictured below was believed to be frequenting a local establishment. Officers attended the establishment to speak with the man and were able to positively identify him as the individual responsible for the mischief to the Pride Flag painting on Minto Street.

Wanted Person – 26-year-old Tyler Closs arrested on Canada-wide Arrest WarrantOn August 6, 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad issued information related to a Canada-wide Arrest Warrant for 26-year-old, Tyler Closs for breaching a Statutory Release Order while serving a 4-year, 6-month and 10-day sentence for:
- Aggravated Assault x2
- Assault Peace Office with Weapon or Imitation x2
- Obstruct Public/Peace Officer
- Assault – Threats Violence – Use of Force

DEU conclude drug trafficking investigation and seize close to $24,000 in drugsOn August 1, 2024, Detectives from the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) concluded an investigation into an individual from Greater Sudbury who was believed to be trafficking illicit drugs.
Detectives from the Integrated Crime Section with the assistance of the Emergency Response Unit (ERU) arrested 42-year-old, Crystal Prescott on drug charges and executed two Search Warrants in Greater Sudbury.
