On June 17, 2026, detectives from our Break Enter and Robbery (BEAR) Unit concluded an investigation into multiple theft related incidents where a significant amount of stolen property was recovered.
As a result of the ongoing investigation into the homicide at Energy Court on June 11, 2026, detectives have identified the individual believed to be responsible.
Around 9:30 p.m. on June 16, 2026, members of the Emergency Response Unit (ERU) and K9 Unit arrested 33-year-old, Brandon Gramling-McEwan at 744 Bruce Street on the arrest warrant.
Just before 3:25 p.m. on June 14, 2026, officers were dispatched to Cedar Street in relation to a weapons complaint. Information provided was that an individual had sustained multiple stab wounds and required immediate medical attention.

The fatal fire at Energy Court on June 11, 2026, is being investigated as a homicide.

Around 3:40 a.m. this morning, June 11, 2026, Greater Sudbury Police, Fire and Paramedic Services were dispatched to Energy Court in relation to two tents on fire.
Upon extinguishing the fires, emergency responders located a deceased individual inside one of the tents. No other individuals have reported injuries.
On June 4, 2026, detectives from our Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) concluded an investigation into individuals believed to be trafficking illicit drugs in our community.
On March 11, 2026, our Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit working in collaboration with our Emergency Response Unit (ERU) executed a search warrant at a residence in Greater Sudbury.

Just before 3:30 p.m. on May 19, 2026, Greater Sudbury Police Service officers responded to a serious collision involving a pedestrian in the area of 129 Second Avenue.
The Greater Sudbury Police Service Board is now accepting applications for the position of Executive Director.
On April 30, 2026, detectives from the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) concluded an investigation into individuals believed to be trafficking illicit drugs in Greater Sudbury. Detectives located a vehicle associated to the individuals on Paris Street and took three people into custody.
