Collision on Lasalle Elm Street between Big Nickel Mine Road and the Lasalle Extension

Around 6:30 p.m. on October 13, 2026, officers were dispatched to a collision on Elm Street between the Big Nickel Mine Road on-ramp and the Lasalle Extension off-ramp.

Collision on Notre Dame Avenue involving a pedestrian

Around 7:15 p.m. officers were dispatched to Notre Dame Avenue between Morin Avenue and Cambrian Heights Drive in relation to a collision involving a pedestrian.

Shortly before 2:40 a.m. on October 11, 2026, the Greater Sudbury Police Service (GSPS) received a traffic complaint regarding a motorcycle carrying a passenger that was being operated in an erratic manner on Notre Dame Avenue. Information provided to police indicated the motorcycle was swerving across the roadway, preventing another vehicle from passing, and driving dangerously close to it.

At approximately 1:00 p.m. on October 8, 2026, officers responded to a threats-related complaint at Confederation Secondary School in Val Caron after a student received a threatening text message from an unknown number.

On October 1, 2026, members of the Greater Sudbury Police Service (GSPS) Patrol Operations Division were investigating an Intimate Partner Violence-related incident at a residence on Granite Street in Greater Sudbury. During the investigation, officers located a quantity of illicit drugs within the residence. Two adults were arrested for possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

On September 24, 2026, members of the Greater Sudbury Police Service (GSPS) Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU), with assistance from the Intelligence Unit, concluded a drug trafficking investigation in Greater Sudbury.

Around 2:20 a.m. on September 23, 2026, Greater Sudbury Police Service (GSPS) officers observed an individual riding a bicycle in the downtown core that had been reported stolen the previous day.

Officers quickly arrested the individual for possession of stolen property. A search incident to arrest resulted in officers locating a quantity of suspected illicit drugs and a large amount of cash.

Members of the Greater Sudbury Police Service (GSPS) Break Enter and Robbery (BEAR) have arrested and charged a 44-year-old individual in connection with a series of copper thefts and mischief incidents targeting commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) units throughout the city.
