UPDATE - Ground search in New Sudbury - Missing person 48-year-old Catherine "Wendy"
UPDATE 2
The Greater Sudbury Police Service continues to ask for the public’s assistance in locating missing person, 48-year-old, Catherine “Wendy”.
This afternoon, members of Patrol Operations, Criminal Investigations, Search and Rescue, Emergency Response, K9 and North Shore Search and Rescue will be conducting a ground search in the wooded area off Madeleine Avenue, Lasalle Boulevard and Arthur Street as Catherine “Wendy” was last seen in that area just before 4:00 p.

Police investigating threat at Lo-Ellen Park Secondary SchoolUPDATE
As a result of the investigation into the threats complaint at Lo-Ellen Park Secondary School, officers have identified the individual believed to be responsible for the message written in a bathroom in the school.
The student has been arrested and charged with Uttering Threats and Mischief.

As a result of the investigation, officers have identified the youth believed to be responsible for the message written in a bathroom at Lively District Secondary School.
The student has been arrested and charged with Uttering Threats and Mischief – Interrupt or Interfere with Lawful Use, Enjoyment, or Operation of Property.

Two individuals arrested and charged after shooting on Agnes Street81-year-old man arrested and charged with Criminal Harassment of City CouncilorOn May 16, 2024, Detectives in the Major Crime Section of our Criminal Investigation Division began a Criminal Harassment investigation into a community member after receiving a complaint from a City of Greater Sudbury Councilor. The harassment of the councilor began in 2022 and has continued throughout 2023 and 2024 escalating from harassing communication to attending and harassing the councilor at their residence causing the councilor to fear for their safety.

The skeletal remains located in the wooded area West of Marion Street in Chelmsford have been identified as Missing Person, Carey Cadeau. Carey was identified through dental records.

Police investigating threat at Ecole Notre-DameBEAR Unit seizes over $25,500 in illicit drugs after driver tries to flee scene of collisionOn May 3, 2024, members of the Break, Enter and Robbery (BEAR) Unit observed a motor vehicle with unauthorized license plates being driven on MR35 in Chelmsford. Detectives from the BEAR Unit requested the assistance of Patrol Operations to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle.

GSPS Members Earn Ontario Women in Law Enforcement (OWLE) AwardsOn Friday, May 3, 2024, the Ontario Women in Law Enforcement (OWLE) hosted its annual Awards Gala in Brampton honouring female police service members from across the province in Major Award Categories and through Length of Service Awards.
A number of GSPS members received Length of Service Awards for having served 25- and 30-years in the policing profession.
