Police investigating threat at l’École secondaire catholique l’Horizon
UPDATE
As a result of the investigation, officers have identified the youth believed to be responsible for the message written in a bathroom at l’École secondaire catholique l’Horizon.
The student has been arrested and charged with Uttering Threats and Mischief – Interrupt or Interfere with Lawful Use, Enjoyment, or Operation of Property.

57-year-old charged with sexual assault in historical investigationIn 2004, the Greater Sudbury Police Service received a report of sexual assault involving a youth, however, at the time the survivor did not want to pursue criminal charges.
In January 2023, Detectives in the Major Sex Crime Unit of our Criminal Investigation Division initiated the investigation as the survivor was ready to proceed with the court process and there is no statute of limitation when it comes to reporting and/or investigating a sexual assault.

Human remains found in ChelmsfordUPDATE
On April 29 and 30, 2024, members from Patrol Operations, Rural Community Response Unit, K9 Unit and the Criminal Investigation Division assisted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) K9 cadaver dog and handler completed a ground search in the wooded area, West of Marion Street in Chelmsford.
Officers thoroughly searched a 100-foot radius around where the original skeletal remains were found.

Rohan Williams Homicide InvestigationUPDATE
The Greater Sudbury Police Service is seeking information in relation to the murder of 50-year-old, Rohan Williams whose body was discovered in his apartment on Elm Street on May 31, 2022.
Police were contacted by Rohan Williams’ loved ones who had not seen or heard from him for several days prior to his body being found.
