About the Greater Sudbury Police Service

Under the leadership of Chief Sara Cunningham and governed by the Greater Sudbury Police Service Board, the Greater Sudbury Police Service is one of Ontario’s Big 12 police services. We serve a large and diverse area, policing more than 3,350 square kilometres of land and 333 lakes.

We employ over 440 dedicated members across a wide range of departments and specialized units, and we offer several volunteer opportunities through programs and advisory committees.

Through Our Shared Commitment to Community Safety and Well‑Being, we act as a human‑centred police service focused on safety, security, wellness, and meaningful partnerships. We work collaboratively to reduce situations of elevated risk and enforce the law while holding offenders accountable.
