Report Motor Vehicle Collisions Online
Community members can now report Motor Vehicle Collisions (MVCs) online. Submit the collision details, including information about the other driver, any witnesses, and your personal statement.
After you submit your report, you will receive:
- a unique reference number, and
- instructions for visiting the Collision Reporting Centre (CRC), including its location, hours, and required documents such as identification and your vehicle.
At the CRC, staff will verify your documents, photograph your vehicle, and finalize the report.
This online option makes the process faster and more convenient, allowing you to start from home and reduce your time at the CRC.
Attending the Collision Reporting Centre
We work in collaboration with Accident Support Services to provide efficient and effective collision reporting through the Collision Reporting Centre (CRC).
CRC Phone Number: 705-983-0994
Accident Support Services can also be reached at this number.
Before attending the CRC, please ensure you have:
- Your valid Driver’s Licence
- Your vehicle ownership
- Your insurance slip
- The vehicle involved in the collision
If your vehicle was towed from the collision scene, confirm with the tow company that it has been taken to — and will be available for — CRC photographs.
Motor vehicle collisions that occur within the City of Greater Sudbury are generally directed to the Collision Reporting Centre.
What should you do after a collision?
| Assess the Damage |
| Check your vehicle and any others involved to determine whether the total damage appears to exceed $5,000. |
| Exchange Information with the Other Driver |
| You must exchange information with the other driver involved. The easiest way is to take clear photos of the required documents using your phone.
Please collect the following:
|
| Mandatory Reporting |
|
Accidents involving injuries or death, criminal activity (such as impaired driving), or damage to private or public property - including buildings, light standards, hydro poles, road signs, or guardrails - must be reported, regardless of the amount of damage.
|
| Attend the Collision Reporting Centre |
|
Attend the Collision Reporting Centre if the total damage appears to exceed $5,000, if you are unsure of the total cost, or if you wish to report the damage for insurance purposes and ensure all required information is documented.
|

|
1. If your vehicle is safe to drive
2. If your vehicle is NOT drivable or is too damaged
