Download, complete and email the Paid Duty Officer Form to the Paid Duty Coordinator at paid.duty@gsps.ca during regular business hours Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with the exception of Statutory Holidays. Paid Duty Fees - January 1, 2024

Paid Duty Hourly Rate - Constable* - $79.29 + $10.31HST = $89.60

Paid Duty Hourly Rate - Sergeant* - $90.72 + $11.79HST = $102.51

Paid Duty Hourly Rate - Staff Sergeant* - $100.04 + $13.01HST = $113.05

Paid Duty Cruiser Fee per hour (minimum three-hour charge) - $33.63 + $4.37HST = $38.00

Paid Duty Boat, Trailer and Tow Vehicle Fee per hour (minimum three-hour charge) - $82.30 + $10.70HST = $93.00

Paid Duty Administration Fee - 20% of total paid duty contract

*Notwithstanding Section 4 of By-law 2009-3, paid duty rates shall be adjusted in accordance with the collective agreement between the Board and the Sudbury Police Association in effect at the time of the paid duty assignment and not the Consumer Price Index. A minimum 3 (three) hour charge shall apply.

Paid Duty Hourly Rate - Sergeant* - $91.62 + $11.91HST = $103.53

Paid Duty Hourly Rate - Staff Sergeant* - $101.03 + $13.13HST = $114.16

 Booking a Paid Duty
  • A minimum of one-week advance booking notice is strongly recommended to request a Paid Duty Officer. Please specify what the function is and the specific service you require.
  • A minimum three-hour charge shall apply and a 20 percent Administration Fee plus applicable HST is levied on all Paid Duty assignments performed by Paid Duty Officers. A deposit may be requested at the discretion of the Divisional Commander.
  • *Notwithstanding Section 4 of By-law 2009-3, paid duty rates shall be adjusted in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Board and the Sudbury Police Association in effect at the time of the assignment of the Paid Duty and not the Consumer Price Index.
 Cancelling a Paid Duty During Regular Business Hours
  • 24 hours notice is required prior to the commencement of the event. A minimum three-hour charge will apply for each police service member booked for the Paid Duty at the hourly rate, if 24-hours notice is not given.
  • Payment must be received within seven days of the date on which the Paid Duty is completed unless otherwise agreed to by the Police Service.
