If this is an emergency, please call 9-1-1
The Greater Sudbury Police Service remains dedicated to policing with excellence and professionalism, using best practices to plan and deliver our core functions. Our goal is to ensure the right resources are deployed to the right place at the right time, serving our community effectively and efficiently.
To better serve our community, we've made several types of reports available online.
- Multi-lingual support in over 50 languages to ensure accessibility for our diverse community.
- Accurate geolocation with Google Maps integration for easy address lookup
- Mobile‑friendly design for reporting on any device, anytime
- Digital evidence upload, allowing files 3GB+ including photos, videos, and documents
Before getting started, there are a few things you should know before submitting an online report:
- Reports can only be submitted for incidents that occurred within the City of Greater Sudbury
- A valid email address is required
- Officers will not attend your residence or business after an online report is submitted
- If you are reporting Sexual Assault, Human Trafficking, or a Hate Crime/Hate‑Motivated Incident, a detective will contact you.
- For all other report types, you will ONLY be contacted if additional information is required.
In addition to non‑emergency reports such as property crimes, fraud, and traffic‑related incidents, Rubireports also supports reporting of sensitive matters investigated by our Criminal Investigation Division. This includes hate crimes and hate‑motivated incidents, sexual assault, and human trafficking.
These reporting options were developed in consultation with community partners to provide a discreet and trauma‑informed way to report. Submissions in these categories are sent directly to specially trained detectives, reducing the number of times a survivor must retell their experience. Survivors can report when they are ready, from any safe location, without concern that a marked police cruiser will attend.
For emergencies or crimes in progress, always call 9‑1‑1.
This transition supports our ongoing effort to provide alternative service‑delivery options for non‑emergency calls, helping ensure our frontline officers remain available for emergency response and critical incidents.
We are pleased to offer a platform that reflects our commitment to continuous improvement and community‑focused policing. Rubireports is more than a new tool—it represents our dedication to making reporting more accessible, efficient, and inclusive.
Please note that Theft of Vehicle reports cannot be filed online. This includes cars, trucks, ATVs, snowmachines, trailers, and heavy equipment or construction machinery.
If you are reporting a stolen vehicle, please call 705‑675‑9171.
