Around 2:20 a.m. on October 26, 2025, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Elm Street at Paris Street after officers saw the driver of the vehicle make multiple unsafe driving maneuvers. Upon speaking with the driver, officers detected signs of impairment. While officers were getting an Approved Screening Device (ASD), the driver drove their vehicle into a parked police cruiser with its emergency lights activated and then struck another vehicle before driving down Lloyd Street towards the Kingsway.

A short time later, officers were informed that the driver and vehicle had been involved in a single vehicle collision in the area of the Kingsway at Falconbridge Road and that the driver was seen fleeing on foot.

Members of Patrol Operations and the K9 Unit attended the area and conducted a track to locate the driver. Around 3:25 a.m., the K9 Unit located the driver and took him into custody. While in police custody, a Breath Technician administered an Intoxilyzer and the driver blew well over the legal limit.
