In the middle of December 2020, we received a call regarding a violent Sexual Assault that took place in Greater Sudbury. Further details of the incident will not be disclosed due to the sensitive nature of the incident and in order to protect the identity of the woman involved.

As a result of the investigation, Detectives in our Criminal Investigation Division have arrested and charged 27 year old Adam Castonguay with the following offences under the Criminal Code of Canada;

  • Sexual Assault Causing Bodily Harm
  • Sexual Assault – Chokes, Suffocates, or Strangles

He was released on an Undertaking with a Court date of April 7, 2021.

Based on the investigation, there are concerns that there may be other Survivors. If you have any information related to this incident or this individual, you are asked to contact our Detectives at 705-675-9171 extension 2301.
