On July 29th, 2025, the Greater Sudbury Police Service received information regarding a wanted individual believed to be in the area of Somerset Street. The individual was known to have an outstanding warrant for Failure to Comply with Release Order, contrary to Section 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code.
Officers from our Community Response Unit (CRU) attended the area and observed a U-Haul truck performing a U-turn, which was believed to be an evasive maneuver to avoid police. At approximately 4:45 p.m., a traffic stop was conducted on Somerset Street at Howey Drive, and the driver was identified as the wanted individual, 29-year-old Craig Fox of Greater Sudbury. He was arrested without incident and transported to police headquarters.
A search incident to arrest revealed the following suspected controlled substances inside the U-Haul:
- 37.1 grams of suspected Crystal Meth
- 9.6 grams of suspected Cocaine
- 73.3 grams of suspected Fentanyl
- 9.1 grams of suspected Hydromorphone
- 4.3 grams of suspected Hydromorph
- 18.6 grams of suspected Ecstasy
The estimated street value of the seized drugs is $32,972.
Officers also located a cell phone, a digital scale and a tactical folding knife.
As a result, 29-year-old Craig Fox of Greater Sudbury was charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC) and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA):
- 1x Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purposed of Trafficking – Schedule 1 – Crystal Meth
- 1x Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purposed of Trafficking – Schedule 1 – Cocaine
- 1x Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purposed of Trafficking – Schedule 1 – Fentanyl
- 1x Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purposed of Trafficking – Schedule 1 – Hydromorphone/Hydromorph
- 1x Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purposed of Trafficking – Schedule 1 – Ecstasy
- Failure to comply with release order
Craig Fox was held in police custody and appeared in court on July 30th, 2025, to answer to the charges.
