As part of our Community Safety and Well-Being Plan, members of the Community Response Unit, Intimate Partner Violence Unit, and High-Risk Offender Investigator carried out a Bail Compliance and Warrant Apprehension Initiative between November 26 and December 5, 2025.

This initiative targeted violent and high-risk offenders currently subject to court-imposed conditions, as well as individuals wanted on outstanding warrants.

Over the course of the 10-day operation, officers conducted 82 bail compliance checks on individuals under house arrest or curfew conditions. Officers found that 82% were following their court-ordered conditions. For those found non-compliant, officers arrested one individual and applied for five additional arrest warrants through the judicial process.

During the same period, officers executed 52 arrest warrants and laid 24 new charges, including 17 related to non-compliance. In addition, officers seized 13.3 grams of Fentanyl, 354.6 grams of Cannabis under the Cannabis Act, and six weapons, including pepper spray, a machete, and a replica firearm.

The Bail Compliance and Warrant Apprehension Program is a proactive measure designed to prevent crime, victimization, and re-victimization by ensuring offenders are held accountable. We will continue to dedicate resources to enforcing court-ordered conditions and promptly executing arrest warrants. This approach underscores our commitment to reducing risk and enhancing the safety, security and well-being of Greater Sudbury.
