On August 28, 2025, detectives from our Break Enter and Robbery (BEAR) Unit concluded an investigation into an individual who is believed to be involved in at least 15 commercial Break and Enters between July 23 and August 27, 2025. These incidents primarily occurred in New Sudbury and the South End where the individual responsible used an object to smash a window of the business to gain access to the cash register and steal money from the till.
Detectives from the Integrated Crime Section with the assistance of Patrol Operations conducted a traffic stop on Notre Dame Avenue on a vehicle being driven by the individual believed to be responsible.
As a result, 58-year-old, Sergio Albanese been charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code of Canada;
- Break Enter and Commit Indictable Offence x11
- Break Enter with Intent to Commit Indictable Offence x4
- Drive While Under Suspension x2
Sergio Albanese was held in custody overnight and will attend Bail Court today, August 29, 2025, to answer to the charges.
