Shortly before 3:00 p.m. on January 17, 2024, officers were dispatched to an address on Frood Road in relation to a death investigation. Information provided was that community members had come across an individual they believed to be deceased in an alleyway.

Officers arrived on scene and located a 49-year-old man who had been pronounced deceased by Greater Sudbury Paramedics. No further information related to the individual’s identity will be released at this time as officers are in the process of notifying the individual’s next of kin.

Detectives from the Major Crime Section of our Criminal Investigation Division are working in collaboration with the Coroner’s Office. A post-mortem has been scheduled for Monday, January 22, 2024 through the Coroner’s Office to assist in determining the cause of death.
