drugs seizedOn February 21, 2026, detectives from the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) concluded a drug investigation into individuals believed to be trafficking illicit drugs in Greater Sudbury.

Members of the Emergency Response Unit (ERU) and K9 Unit executed a high-risk vehicle stop where one person was arrested.

Based on the investigation, detectives applied for and were granted a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant for an apartment on Martindale Road where another person was arrested inside.

As a result of searches of the individuals, vehicle and residence incident to arrests, officers located approximately 1,085 grams of cocaine, 46 grams of crack cocaine and 992 Hydromorphone pills as well as, $4,960 CDN and $60 USD. The estimated street value of the seized drugs is $150,000.

27-year-old, Leonardo Dos Reis and 27-year-old, Carlos Menezes Da Silva have been charged with the following offences under the CDSA and Criminal Code of Canada:

  • Possession of a Schedule I controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking x2
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

pills seizedBoth individuals appeared in Bail Court on February 21, 2026, to answer to the charges and have since been remanded into custody.
