Just after 8:40 p.m. on September 11, 2025, officers were dispatched to Bancroft Drive in relation to a Robbery. Information provided was that a group of youth had entered a convenience store and stole cases of alcohol. When the employee approached the youth outside the convenience store, one of the youths displayed what was described as a handgun. The youths fled the area on foot prior to police being called.

Members of Patrol Operations, the Emergency Response Unit (ERU) and K9 Unit arrived on scene. Officers conducted a K9 track leading to Second Avenue where two youths were arrested. While on scene, Patrol Officers recognized two other youths who were believed to be involved. They were taken into custody without incident. Through the investigation, the fifth youth was identified, and officers attended the individual’s residence where he was taken into custody. The five youths, two girls, 15- and 16-years-old, and three boys, 15- and 16-years-old (x2) have been charged with Robbery.

Four of the youths were held in custody to attend court today, September 12, 2025, while one of the youths was released with a court date of November 13. 2025 to answer to the charge. Their names cannot be released as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
