
Members of the Break Enter and Robbery (B.E.A.R.) Unit have arrested an individual following an investigation into a stolen vehicle.
On December 18, 2025, officers observed a vehicle that had been reported stolen on December 14, 2025. The vehicle was parked at an address on Frood Road when an individual exited the building a walked to the vehicle. Officers approached the individual on foot while an additional police vehicle was used to block the vehicle. When officers went to affect an arrest, the individual attempted to evade police by intentionally ramming the unmarked police vehicle with the stolen vehicle.
Following a brief struggle, officers successfully arrested the individual without further risk to officer or public safety. A search conducted incident to arrest resulted in the seizure of 136 grams of what is believed to be cocaine and $3,500 in cash. The estimated value of the drugs seized is $13,600.
The stolen vehicle was recovered and the investigation into the original incident is ongoing.
The 16-year-old, youth has been charged with the following offences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) and Criminal Code of Canada;
- Dangerous Operation of a Motor vehicle
- Assault with a Weapon
- Assault Peace Officer
- Resist Peace Officer
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Cocaine)
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
- Breach of Release Order.
The youth was held in custody overnight and will attend Bail Court today, December 19, 2025, to answer to the charges.
