Just before 5:00 p.m. on April 23, 2026, officers were dispatched to a serious collision involving an electric scooter at the intersection of Godfrey Drive and Park Street in Copper Cliff.

Based on the investigation, it has been determined that a pick-up truck was traveling southbound on Godfrey Drive when a youth riding an electric scooter entered the roadway from Park Street.

The youth sustained serious, but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital by Greater Sudbury Paramedic Services. The youth was flown to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre by Ornge air ambulance.

The integrated Traffic Safety Unit (ITSU) is investigating the collision; however, it is not anticipated that charges will be laid.
