Around 4:20 p.m. on March 11, 2026, officers were dispatched to a serious collision involving four vehicles on MR35/Elm Street between the Lasalle Extension and Big Nickel Road.

Based on the initial investigation, it is believed that a Black Tesla sedan was traveling eastbound towards downtown when the driver lost control crossing the centre line into oncoming traffic. The vehicle struck a Green Hyundai SUV head-on causing the two vehicles to collide with a Black Honda CRV and a Black Honda Pilot.

The driver of the Tesla was transported to the hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Hyundai sustained minor injuries.

The driver of the Honda CRV was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

The driver and two passengers of the Honda Pilot sustained minor injuries that did not require medical attention.     

The Integrated Traffic Safety Unit (ITSU) is investigating the collision. The investigation is ongoing.
