UPDATE

The third suspect involved in this incident has been identified as 20-year old Brandon Leclair-Davey of Greater Sudbury and is believed to be actively evading Police. He has been charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code of Canada: Brandon Leclair-Davey

  • Robbery with Violence
  • Failure to Comply with Release Order
  • Failure to Comply with Probation Order

Brandon Leclair-Davey (pictured) is described as approximately 5’6” tall, 120 lbs, with a thin build, brown hair and hazel eyes. Anyone with information as to his whereabouts is asked to call Police at 705-675-9171 or Crime Stoppers at 705-222-8477.

At 8:42 p.m. on Sunday, October 1st, 2023, the Greater Sudbury Police Service received a call for service in relation to a Disturbance in the area of Riverside Dr. and Elgin St. in Greater Sudbury. Information provided was that a group of individuals were heard yelling and that a significant amount of blood was observed on the ground in the area.

The individuals involved had fled the scene prior to Police arrival.

Upon arrival, Police immediately reviewed Lions Eye in the Sky (Closed Circuit Television monitoring program) footage which had captured the incident. The footage revealed that a male victim had been laying on the ground of the underpass tunnel, when three men approached him and began to physically assault him. Through the course of the assault, the suspects were observed rummaging through the victim’s pockets and possessions.

Thanks to the Lions Eye in the Sky surveillance footage, Police were able to quickly identify all three suspects. At 9:28 p.m., Officers located and arrested two of the suspects in a nearby area.

25-year old Patrick Tarczyluk of Mississauga, Ontario was charged with the following offence under the Criminal Code of Canada:

  • Robbery with Violence

20-year old Dayen Recollet of Greater Sudbury was charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code of Canada:

  • Robbery with Violence
  • Failure to Comply with Release Order

Both men were transported to GSPS headquarters and held in Police custody overnight. They appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday (W.A.S.H.) Court today, October 2nd, 2023 to answer to the charges.

A 20-year old man from Greater Sudbury has been identified as the third suspect involved in the incident; however, he remains outstanding. Officers have applied for an arrest warrant for the man and once the information has been sworn to through the court process, an update will be provided.

The victim in this matter was located by Patrol Operations Officers and received medical attention from City of Greater Sudbury Paramedic Services. His injuries were deemed non-life threatening.

This is believed to be a targeted incident.
