Shortly after 2:05 p.m. on May 21, 2025, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and GSPS K9 Units were in the area of the Junction Creek trail at Kelly Lake Road as part of the ongoing search efforts for missing person, 39-year-old, Parisa, when OPP cadaver dog, Scout located a body in Junction Creek.

A postmortem was conducted on May 23, 2025, through the Coroner’s Office to assist in confirming the identity of the individual and the cause of death. Through the postmortem it has been confirmed that the deceased person is 39-year-old, Parisa who was last seen around 10:30 a.m. on April 7, 2025, on Corsi Hill. At this time, there is no suspicion of criminality or foul play.

Our deepest condolences go out to Parisa’s family and friends. We ask that you respect their privacy during this very emotional time.

Over the past six and a half weeks, officers from GSPS and the OPP with the assistance of members of North Shore Search and Rescue (NSSR) conducted weekly ground, water and aerial searches based on the point Parisa was last seen. Unfortunately, due to environmental factors at the time of her disappearance, Parisa was not located during the initial search efforts. The change in Spring conditions assisted in her being discovered by K9 Scout.

We would like to thank everyone who called in with information or who checked properties during the ongoing search efforts, as well as, members of NSSR and the OPP Search and Recovery Unit for their support and assistance.
