Around 12:20 p.m. on August 4, 2025, officers were dispatched to a single vehicle collision on an unnamed road near Portelance Road, North of Capreol. Information provided was that two individuals were riding in a side-by-side when the driver lost control of the off-road vehicle (ORV), and the passenger was ejected.

The passenger, an 11-year-old, youth was airlifted to the hospital. Unfortunately, the youth was pronounced deceased by medical professionals.

Our deepest condolences go out to the youth’s family and friends. The youth’s name will not be released out of respect for the family’s wishes. No further information related to the youth will be provided.

Members of our Integrated Traffic Safety Unit (ITSU) are investigating the collision. The investigation is ongoing.
