Just after 1:00 p.m. on August 18, 2025, the Greater Sudbury Police Service responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting a home invasion at a residence on Spruce Street. Information provided was that an individual had been shot and required immediate medical assistance.

Upon arrival, Patrol Officers located a 58-year-old male who had sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The individual was transported to hospital and remains in critical condition.

The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival. Based on preliminary information, this is believed to be a targeted incident involving individuals known to each other. There is no threat to public safety.

The investigation is ongoing and has been assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division. Officers are actively working to identify and locate the suspect.
