Shortly after 1:50 p.m. officers were dispatched to the area of Notre Dame Avenue at St. George Street in relation to a weapons complaint. Information provided was that an individual had attended an establishment on Notre Dame Avenue with what were believed to be stab wounds.

Officers and Greater Sudbury Paramedics arrived on scene and located a 31-year-old, man who had sustained serious injuries. The individual was transported to hospital where he remains in stable condition.

Based on the investigation, officers attended a residence on St. George Street. Officers set-up containment of the residence and made entry into the building to ensure the safety of those who might be inside. Officers cleared the building. No one was located inside.

Officers continue to canvas the area of Notre Dame Avenue and St. George Street for information and video surveillance footage.
