On Monday, July 28th, 2025, Detectives from the Greater Sudbury Police Service (GSPS) Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) concluded an investigation into an individual suspected of trafficking illicit drugs within the Greater Sudbury area.
As a result of the investigation, members of the GSPS Emergency Response Unit (ERU) conducted a targeted traffic stop on Highway 69 in Greater Sudbury on July 28th, 2025, resulting in the arrest of an adult male originally from the Durham region. The arrest was carried out without incident.
A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the seizure of the following substances:
- 1,218.22 grams of cocaine
- 40.24 grams of fentanyl
- Six 5mg TEC pills
The total estimated street value of the drugs seized is $125,876.00.
As a result, the 31-year-old man has been charged with the following offences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA):
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Fentanyl
The accused is scheduled to appear in bail court on Tuesday, July 29th, 2025, to answer to the charges.
