The Greater Sudbury Police Service remains committed to the safety, security, and wellness of our community members. In response to concerns expressed by residents and community partners at 1920 and 1960 Paris Street, officers conducted Project Paris between October 27 and November 7, 2025.

This proactive initiative focused on individuals who posed a risk to public safety through bail compliance checks, warrant apprehensions, and targeted enforcement against high-risk individuals involved in drug trafficking and organized crime.

The project was a collaborative effort involving members of the Community Response Unit, Patrol Operations, and the Integrated Crime Section.

As a result of Project Paris;

  • 21 individuals were arrested on outstanding warrants and/or new charges
  • 28 new charges were laid under the Criminal Code (CC), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA), and Highway Traffic Act (HTA)
  • Officers executed a CDSA search warrant resulting in the seizure of:
    • 24 grams of cocaine
    • 122 Oxycodone pills
    • Approximately $15,000 in cash
    • $3,100 worth of drugs seized
    • Officers recovered $150,000 worth of stolen property

Project Paris resulted in a noticeable reduction in drug activity, fostering a safer environment for residents and community partners. The initiative generated positive feedback and increased engagement from community members, reinforcing trust and collaboration. Additionally, the project strengthened inter-unit cooperation and intelligence-sharing, laying the groundwork for sustained enforcement efforts. Moving forward, we remain committed to working collaboratively with the City of Greater Sudbury and residents of 1920 and 1960 Paris Street to build trust, reduce crime, and hold offenders accountable.
