UPDATE - Man Identified and Charged

The man has been identified and is currently in Police custody. He has been charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code of Canada:
• Indecent Act
• Nudity
• Public Disturbance

His name cannot be released as the information has not yet been sworn to through the Court process. He will be released on an Undertaking with a First Appearance Court Date of November 16th, 2022 to answer to the charges.

The investigation is still ongoing.

We are requesting the Public’s assistance in order to identify the man involved in an Indecent Act incident that occurred in the area of Leslie Street in Greater Sudbury on September 5th, 2022. 

Information provided was that the man had been seen exposing himself while walking along the sidewalk.

The man is described as being white, 30-40-years old with short dark hair (balding on top) and a beard. He was wearing a black t-shirt, black gym shorts, flip flops and sunglasses at the time of the incident.

It has not been reported that the man is aggressive; however, we encourage community members to keep in mind the following safety tips to ensure personal safety:

  • Walk with a partner or in a group, especially at night
  • Tell someone where you are going and when you’re expected to return
  • Always carry a fully charged cell phone
  • If you feel you are in danger or threatened by someone, call Police immediately and provide as much information as possible regarding physical and clothing descriptors.
