UPDATE 

On Friday, December 11, 2020, Patrol Officers located and arrested 34 year old Ty Thrush on an outstanding Arrest Warrant for Robbery x6 and Disguise with Intent x6 in connection to the local Robberies that occurred between November 7 and November 15, 2020.

He will be held in Police custody in order to attend Weekend and Statutory Holiday Court on Saturday, December 12, 2020 to answer to the charges.

We are requesting the Public’s assistance to locate 34 year old Ty Thrush in connection to six Robberies that occurred between November 7, 2020 and November 15, 2020. Two of the Robberies took place back-to back on Notre Dame Avenue on November 14, 2020.

Just before 10:00 p.m. on November 14, 2020, we received a call that a Robbery had just taken place at a restaurant on Notre Dame Avenue in Greater Sudbury. Information provided was that a man had entered the establishment, demanded money from the staff while displaying an edged weapon. The man stole an unknown amount of cash and then fled the area on foot prior to Police arrival.

Police arrived on scene minutes later, where they then reviewed video surveillance and set up containment until the K9 Unit arrived. Police searched the area with help from Tactical Officers and the K9 Unit, however they were unable to locate the man.

A short time later, Police were dispatched another restaurant on Notre Dame Avenue in regards to another Robbery that had just occurred.

Police were told that a man had entered the establishment and demanded money. The man was unable to obtain any money from the establishment and fled the area on foot prior to Police arrival. Officers arrived on scene moments later, canvassed the area and reviewed security camera footage.

Members of our Break Enter and Robbery (B.E.A.R.) Unit identified the man believed to be responsible as 34 year old, Ty Thrush. He is also believed to be responsible for four other Robberies that took place on November 7, 2020 on Douglas Avenue, on November 8, 2020 on Elm Street, on November 11, 2020 on King Street and on November 15, 2020 on Douglas Avenue.

Due to the violent behaviour of this man and the escalating number of incidents, Detectives applied for and have been granted an Arrest Warrant for Ty Thrush for Robbery x6 and Disguise with Intent x6. Anyone with information related to his whereabouts is asked to contact our Criminal Investigation Division.
