UPDATE

Early this morning, May 5, 2026, members of the Toronto Police Service (TPS) located and arrested 43-year-old, Matthew Francis on the outstanding arrest warrants. 

Matthew Francis has been transported back to Greater Sudbury and will attend Bail Court to answer to the charges.

The Greater Sudbury Police Service is requesting public assistance to locate 43-year-old, Matthew Francis (image attached) who is wanted on two arrest warrants for the following offences under the Criminal Code of Canada;

  • Sexual Assault
  • Utter Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
  • Criminal Harassment Repeatedly Follow
  • Criminal Harassment Engage in Threatening Conduct

Due to the sensitive nature of these incidents and to protect the identities of the victims/survivors, no further information will be provided.

Officers have made multiple attempts to locate Matthew Francis, however it is believed he is actively evading police.

There is a concern for public safety as the individuals involved in these incidents are not known to each other.
