Devin TaylorOn October 31, 2025, officers from the Integrated Traffic Safety Unit (ITSU) and Patrol Operations were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) check at the roundabout on Lasalle Boulevard at Frood Road. Around 11:45 p.m. officers stopped at vehicle at the check point and while speaking with the driver, officers detected signs of impairment. Upon asking for the driver’s identification, it was determined that his Driver’s Licence was expired and that he was a prohibited driver.

Officers directed the individual to turn off the engine and exit the vehicle, however, the driver refused. An officer opened the driver’s door to affect an arrest, however, the driver drove forward striking the officer and then dragging him a short distance before the officer was able get free. The driver then fled the scene in the vehicle. Fortunately, the officer sustained minor injuries.

As a result of the incident, officers applied for and have been granted an arrest warrant for 47-year-old, Devin Taylor (image attached) for the following offences under the Criminal Code and Canada and the Highway Traffic Act (HTA);

  • Assault Peace Officer with a Weapon
  • Resist Arrest
  • Flight From Peace Officer
  • Operation While Impaired
  • Dangerous Operation
  • Failure to Stop After Accident
  • Operation While Prohibited x3
  • Class G1 Licence Holder - Unaccompanied by Qualified Driver
