UPDATE 2

Through the ongoing investigation into the fatal shooting on June 13, 2025, on Clemow Avenue, officers identified, located and arrested the person believed to be responsible for the shooting.

Around 6:30 p.m. on June 13, 2025, members of the Emergency Response Unit (ERU) arrested 19-year-old, Braidon Jordan on Barrydowne Road.

Upon searching the individual incident to arrest, officers located a loaded handgun and 30.5 grams of cocaine with an estimated street value of $3,050.

Braidon Jordan has been charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code of Canada and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA):

  • Second Degree Murder
  • Attempt Murder with a Firearm
  • Breach of Firearms Prohibition x3
  • Break and Enter - Commit Indictable Offence
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Possession of a Firearm Knowing it was Obtained Through the Commission of a Crime
  • Unlawful Possession of a Firearm
  • Use Firearm in Commission of an Offence
  • Pointing a Firearm
  • Carry Concealed Weapon
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Adult Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
  • Careless Use of a Firearm
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
  • Breach of Probation  
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking to wit Cocaine

Braidon Jordan appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) Court on Saturday, June 14, 2025, to answer to the charges and has since been remanded into custody.

Based on the investigation, detectives have confirmed that two other individuals were involved in the incident. Both individuals remain at large.

Detectives continue to follow-up on leads and information to identify and locate both individuals.

UPDATE

Unfortunately, the 40-year-old, woman succumbed to the injuries and has been pronounced deceased by medical professionals. Our deepest condolences go out to her family and friends.

This incident is being investigated as a homicide.

Officers remain on scene and will be canvassing the area for information and video surveillance footage.

Shortly after 12:00 p.m. this afternoon, June 13, 2025, officers were dispatched to a weapons complaint on Clemow Avenue in Greater Sudbury. Information provided was that two individuals had sustained gunshot wounds and required immediate medical attention.

Officers and Greater Sudbury Paramedics arrived on scene and located two individuals, a 40-year-old, woman and a 39-year-old, man who had sustained what are believed to be gunshot wounds. Both individuals sustained serious injuries and have been transported to hospital by paramedics.

Based on the information provided on scene, it is believed that multiple parties fled prior to police arrival.

Officers remain on scene and in the area canvassing for video surveillance footage.

Anyone with information or with video surveillance equipment in the area that may have captured the individuals involved is asked to contact police at 705-675-9171.

This is believed to be a targeted incident as the individuals involved are known to each other.
