
UPDATE 2
As a result of the search warrant executed at the residence on MR80, officers located and seized what is believed to be the firearm used in the robbery, a second firearm and ammunition.
36-year-old, James Kidd and 46-year-old, Brooke Tyson, the two individuals taken into custody by ERU at the residence, have been charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code of Canada;
- Robbery with a Firearm
- Disguise with Intent
- Pointing a Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order (James Kidd)
- Careless Storage of Firearm, Weapon or Prohibited Device or Ammunition (James Kidd)
- Disobeying Order of Court (Brooke Tyson)
Both individuals attended Weekends and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court on March 15, 2026, to answer to the charges.
UPDATE
Shortly after 11:00 a.m. members of ERU made entry into the home and took two people into custody.
Officers have applied for a search warrant for the residence. A police presence will remain on scene.
The shelter in place has been lifted and MR80 is open to traffic.
An update on charges will be provided once the search warrant has been executed.

ORIGINAL
Around 5:30 a.m. this morning, officers responded to reports of a robbery with a firearm at a gas station on MR 80. The individuals involved fled on foot prior to police arrival.
Our K9 Unit supported by patrol operations conducted a track in the area that led officers to a residence on MR80.
The individuals believed to be involved in the robbery are believed to be inside the residence.
Officers set up containment of the residence and residents near the home have been asked to shelter in place.
The Emergency Response Unit (ERU) and K9 Unit are on scene and continue to communicate with those inside for a peaceful resolution.
Community members are asked to avoid the area while officers are on scene. MR 80 is closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic from Isabelle Street and Division Street.
Please do not live stream video or post photos of our officers while the incident in ongoing. This places not only our officers but the community at risk.
