Officers Seize Drugs, Weapons and Explosives After Search Warrants on Moxam Road

On February 16, 2021, we received information that a resident on Moxam Drive in Lively was in possession of explosives and illicit drugs. Detectives from our Major Crime Section of our Criminal Investigation Division began an investigation into the matter.

Based on the investigation, Detectives applied for and were granted Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrants for the residence.

Traveler in Breach of Quarantine Act Fined $3000

On February 20, 2021, Officers were dispatched to a residence in Greater Sudbury after we received a complaint from a Quarantine Officer with Public Health Agency of Canada. Information provided was that a resident of Greater Sudbury had returned to Canada from the United States on February 19, 2021 with COVID test results that did not meet the current Federal timeline requirement.

27 year old Man Charged with Numerous Child Pornography Offences

On February 18, 2021 the Internet Child Exploitation (I.C.E.) and Computer Forensics Units assisted by member of our Emergency Response and Intelligence Units executed a Search Warrant at a residence in Greater   Sudbury.

As a result of the investigation, 27 year old, Kodie O’Malley was arrested and charged with the following offences:

• Access Child Pornography x10
• Possess Child Pornography x11
• Distribute Child Pornography x4

Suspicious Incident on Central Lane in Garson

On February 11, 2021, we received a call from a concerned parent regarding a Suspicious Incident on Central Lane in Garson. Information provided was that around 2:35 p.m. a youth was walking up Central Lane from the Garson Park when approached by a man. The man then made an unwanted sexual advance towards the youth and then left the area heading towards Garson Park.
