We would like to remind everyone, community members and business owners that no one is immune to Fraud. Scammers are sneaky and sly. They can target anyone, from youth to seniors. They can also target businesses.

Commonly, scammers contact individuals claiming that they are entitled to an extra refund or have to pay an outstanding balance immediately. The scammers are getting creative with their stories in an attempt to have individuals share personal information or worse, provide payment via prepaid...

Six Drivers Charged with Impaired Driving Over the Weekend – Two During RIDE Checks

This past weekend, (Friday December 6, 2019 to Sunday December 8, 2019), the Greater Sudbury Police Service investigated several incidents involving impaired driving. As a result of these investigations, a total of six drivers (26, 28, 52, 55, and 61 year old men and a 20 year old woman) were charged with impaired operation in the three-day span.

Shortly before 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2019, the Break Enter and Robbery (B.E.A.R.) Unit with assistance from the Tactical Unit arrested a 47-year old man on Lasalle Boulevard in relation to three Robberies. Shortly after 10:00 p.m. on Monday, December 2, 2019, we received a call regarding an Assault that had just taken place in the parking lot of a residential building on Lansing Avenue. Witnesses believed that a woman had just been pushed out of a vehicle in the parking lot after being assaulted by a man driving the car.
