16-year-old believed to be responsible for shooting at Overtime Sports Bar arrested in Toronto

Around 7:35 a.m. this morning, April 29, 2023, the Toronto Police Service arrested the 16-year-old believed to be responsible for the fatal shooting at Overtime Sports Bar in Greater Sudbury.

The youth has been charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code of Canada;

• Murder
• Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
• Carrying concealed weapon
• Unauthorized possession of a prohibited device
• Unauthorized possession of a firearm
• Possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition

Through the ongoing investigation into the fatal shooting on April 21, 2023 at Overtime Sports Bar in Greater Sudbury that took the life of a 22-year-old man, Detectives have obtained additional images of the person believed to be responsible.

Four people arrested and charged in connection to the murder of 31-year-old man

On April 14, 2023, Detectives from the Major Crime Section of our Criminal Investigation Division located the body of 31-year-old Emad Ali in a wooded area off Dryden Road in Greater Sudbury. Upon locating the body, members of our Search and Rescue Team working in collaboration with North Shore Search and Rescue and GSPS and OPP K9 Units conducted an extensive ground search of the area.

Fatal Collision on Capreol Lake Road claims the life of 22-year-old woman

Around 2:45 p.m. on April 23, 2023, officers were dispatched to Capreol Lake Road in Hanmer in relation to a single vehicle collision.

City of Greater Sudbury Paramedic and Fire Services responded to the scene and began life-saving measures on the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle. Unfortunately, the 22-year-old woman was pronounced deceased on scene.
