Taxi Driver Charged With Impaired Operation - He Was Intaxicated

Around 10:00 a.m. on February 19, 2022, a Taxi Driver attended the Collision Reporting Centre in Azilda to report a rear-end collision involving the Taxi cab. 

While the vehicle was parked in the parking lot of the Collision Reporting Centre, off-duty Officers were arriving at work at the Police Community Response Centre when they detected a strong odour of Cannabis coming from the Taxi cab. Polar Plunge Poster and Photo Contest

Once again, the annual Sudbury Polar Plunge will be virtual.

In preparation for the virtual plunges, we’re asking Greater Sudbury youth to participate in our 2022 Polar Plunge contest: a poster contest for elementary school students and a photo contest for secondary school students.

UPDATE - 27 year old Man Arrested and Charged in Relation to Fatal Hit and Run on Walford Road

Through the investigation, investigators identified the driver believed to be responsible for the fatal Hit and Run collision that occurred on February 1, 2022 near the intersection of Walford Road and Ramsey View Court in Greater Sudbury.

Requesting Assistance to Locate Vehicle - Fatal Hit and Run Collision - Walford Road

UPDATE

Through the investigation it has been determined that a Dodge Ram pick-up truck (images attached) was traveling Westbound on Walford Road when it struck a pedestrian near the intersection of Ramseyview Court. The truck sustained significant damage to the front grill that is described as a black honeycomb patter. The driver of the truck fled the scene in the vehicle without stopping to assist the pedestrian who later succumbed to her injuries in the hospital.

Requesting Assistance to Identify Man Responsible for Sexual Assault

UPDATE

As a result of the investigation, a 44 year old man has been identified, arrested and charged with Sexual Assault in relation to this matter. He will appear in Court on April 6, 2022 to answer to the charge. His name cannot be released as it has not yet been sworn to through the Court process.

This is believed to be an isolated incident.
