Officers Arrest Woman in Connection to Three Robberies

Around 10:30 p.m. on January 20, 2022, a woman covered her face and entered a convenience store on Douglas Street in Greater Sudbury. The woman walked to the register and placed a bag on the counter, demanding money from the till and cartons of cigarettes. During this time, the woman kept her hand in her jacket pocket while insinuating that she had a weapon. Two for One - BEAR Unit Arrest Two Men in Connection to Robbery on Notre Dame Avenue

Just before 1:10 p.m. on May 23, 2022, a man with his face covered entered a convenience store on Notre Dame Avenue. The man then selected various items and attempted to exit the store without paying for the items. An employee stopped the man and asked him to pay for the items resulting in the man pepper spraying all of the employees in the store. The man then fled the area on foot.

Homicide Investigation - Man Found Dead Inside Residential Unit on Elm Street

UPDATE

Based on the evidence collected at the crime scene and injuries that were discovered during the post mortem conducted through the Coroner’s Office, the death of the 50 year old man is now being investigated as a Homicide involving a firearm.

His name will not be released at this time pending the notification of his next of kin. Our deepest condolences go out to his family and friends.
